So she's had a decent day. Mommy got to hold her again which makes them both feel oh so good.
She was able to tolerate a wean down on one part of her ventilator which is a good sign.
The Neurosurgeon did suggest that Bella receive the shunt to help reduce the hydrocephalus (which hasn't gotten worse per ultrasound but still significant to do something about it) and so that procedure is scheduled for Monday. The plan here is to get it done before trialing the next extubation (or removal of the breathing tube) and switching to a high powered humidified nasal cannula.
After talking with her nurse tonight, she says Bella has been a good girl so far for her and we hope and pray she continues to progress!

Dear Becky & Matt, Just wanted to let u know that ur in our thoughts & prayers everyday. We pray for Bella to go forward with her progress. For some strange reason, I know in my heart & my gut that all will be okay for Bella. i know the shunt is hard to face but i feel it is in her best interest for prevention & I would certainly do the same if she were my angel.
