Bella stuck at 2 lbs 5 ozs. She is up to full feeds again and oh boy do we have a stock-pile of breastmilk at home in the freezer!
As we continue to love her & pray that she grows our hope is that she'll dodge any other complications. We all know she's had plenty.
She's been back on oral sodium supplementation related to a medication similar to Lasix(aka "the water pill") called Aldactizide that should help keep extra fluid away from the PDA to help it closd itself faster.
She is also on oral caffeine (not Mt Dew) to help continued to stimulate (or remind) her central nervous system to tell her diaphragm to take breathes.
She continues on a tapering dose of decadron to help her lung tissue grow, so that she can stay off the ventilator.

ReplyDeletei know that you are breastfeeding,so if you have the chance to see a good homeopath i would do so.i have a great one here in germany and when the drs thought landon was blind and they couldn`t do anything but wait for the vessels to grow by themself i went to see my dr and she gave ME homeopathic meds for my baby to get it through the milk.because the clinic doesn`t believe in it at all.it helped me with retained placenta and mononucleosis when no "real" meds could.i know the clinical meds saved our children but they also need something to help their own body to heal and grow and to get the toxic(like from all the antibiotis) out of the system.if you want to and find the time you can see my boy landon on my facebook account.there are also pictures from when he was as little as bella is now and he is one big 2 year old now.anyway,sending lots of positive energy to bella <3 diana friedel
